I am a licensed veterinary technician who works at a feline-only hospital. We recently started carrying these Cat Catchers so I took one home for my two cats. They absolutely LOVED it!! They go nuts for it!
I like the wire instead of the string since my cats have a history of eating string (yikes!), so there is less damage of chewing and swallowing it. Though it’s still a supervised-only toy. Both of them sit by the closet where I keep it and meow at me until I get it down.
Every client who has bought one has raved about it. I don’t know what it is about these toys, but cats LOVE them!! I’d highly recommend this toy for any age cat.

My cats all love this toy, as do the numerous foster cats that have come through my home on a regular basis. That said, I have two complaints about this toy. First, the wand is poorly designed. I expect the toy attachments to fail over time and need replacement, which I’ve happily done. However, the wand has a hollow interior with a wire, and that internal wire connects to the wire that comes out of the top. This is a very common failure point as the entire internal wire can be pulled out. I finally found a solution by filling the top and bottom of the wand with hot glue which seems to be holding up quite nicely.
The second complaint I have is the mouse attachment. It’s by far all of our cats favorite attachment, however tonight a metal spike came out of it after prolonged play. This for us, is a deal breaker. We will not be purchasing more of the mouse attachments, which is unfortunate given how much our guys love this toy, but safety first. Once I figure out how to upload a picture of this, I will.
We still use this wand, although with other attachments now.

I don’t know how to rate this toy because my cats love it. 5 stars for how much fun my cats have. Negative 5 for the safety issue.
It’s very unsafe as there is an internal pin that has a sharp cut end near the tail of the toy mouse that is easily exposed and can cut a cat’s mouth/paws very easily. With moderate wear (as in a few hours), the tail portion was ripped off by my cats. I didn’t notice until one cat became leery of playing with it as he once had – then noticed a cut on his lips – didn’t realize it was the toy mouse until I inspected it – knew immediately what had happened.
You can buy replacement mice on Amazon, so buy a few extras as you’ll need them – every cat I have loves this toy – from kittens (who run themselves to exhaustion) to my 19 year old semi-invalid cat (only thing she’s still interested to play with).
MONITOR THIS TOY REGULARLY – IT IS DANGEROUS WHEN WORN
SEE PHOTO – the pen is a 0.5mm nib pointing to the similar sized metal pin inside the mouse
