I love this program with Amazon. I have many subscriptions for catfood. The only problem I have with it, is the prices are changing CONSTANTLY/daily. Seriously, I have to monitor my account almost every day. The prices jump around from $9/case to $17/case ALL THE TIME. I did not understand that part when I signed up for subscribe and save. In the beginning, I ended up paying $17/case a few times (becuz I was not watching to see what the price was on my shipment day). I can get it at WalMart for $10-$11/case. I figured, subscribing meant locking in the price, and that is not the case with this program. Now I watch them alot and I am just cancelling and re-activating everything all the time. I will only do this if it is cheaper for me than I pay at WalMart. I have lots of cats and I also feed strays, so I need to save money on catfood whenever possible.

Our cats like this food just fine. We subscribe and save to several flavors of friskies select indoor canned food because it is so incredibly convenient. I do wonder about amazon’s practices for storing and shipping these products, however. On MANY occasions we have received packages with severely dented cans. On at least two occasions these dents have busted some cans open and the food inside was rotten. Let me tell you, rotten canned cat food smells absolutely horrific. Our last shipment had one dented and slightly opened can that was molding. Why are these cans getting so badly banged up??

This review is from: Friskies Wet Cat Food, Prime Filets, Seafood Favorites 3-Flavor Variety Pack, 5.5-Ounce Can, Pack of 24 (Target)
I just uploaded a picture of all the dented cans that I received in my latest shipment. This was the third month in a row that cans arrived dented. Amazon did refund half the shipment, which was great, but this just isn’t worth it when some are so dented they are leaking.
Too good to be true! Wish this worked because I hate buying cat food at the store and this was very convenient, but I have now cancelled my subscribe and save. Bummer.

First off, let me tell you a few things about my cat and wet food: 1) On a good day he licks up the juice and leaves the chunks; 2) He refuses to eat pate; 3) He will love it on Monday and hate it on Tuesday; 4) He has a delicate digestive system; 5) He can sniff out medicine in wet food like a hunting dog tracking a deer.
Having said all of those things, none of them apply when using this wet food. He loves the Elegant Medleys (only the ones in delicate sauce) and he will eat every last drop of it. I mix his powdered medicine in his food daily and he still eats it! Also, he has yet to get tired of the three flavors and none of them upset his stomach. For the picky kitty, I definitely recommend this food!

I am the proud owner of 5 cats and whenever a new type of canned food is tried in our household, all five of the kitties try the new food and then, after having tried the food at least four time, the kitties hold a meeting with me and then tell me how they vote for the new dish.
This review is of Purina Fancy Feast Elegant Medleys Tastemakers Yellowfin Tuna and Shrimp with Wild Rice in Gravy Cat Food. I, the owner of the group, initially saw this new offering from Fancy Feast in PetsMart. Occasionally, I make a run in there to pick up a few items to supplement what we get from Amazon. I like to buy a few cans of a new food and introduce it to the group instead of buying an entire case from Amazon and taking the chance that it will get a “thumbs down” vote and then I will be stuck with a whole case of something that no one likes. Oddly enough, even though I have five tasters, it almost always happens that everyone likes a given food, or everyone dislikes it. Rarely to I chance upon something that gets a positive vote from one or two and a negative vote from the others. I was quite hopeful when I initially purchased this Yellowfin Tastemaker as the kitties all DO LIKE the plain Yellow Fin Tuna with nothing added to spice it up. However, shrimp is not always a favorite, so I had to wait and see.
So, about a month ago the kitties had their first can and scarfed it all down, right now, right away. Hah! All you cat parents out there know this is not a sure thing. So, a week later, can number two was given…and inhaled, then on two successive nights the other two cans were given…and every one ate it up and sat around smacking their lips. So, time for a vote:
Gabriella, the Lady in Charge, age 3, stated that it was FINE, but gave not other details. Trinity, THE LEADING MALE, age 4, feigned a fair amount of disinterest and noted that it was OK, but he would prefer variety. He would not make this and “every day” meal for himself. Then the twins, Wisdom and Mercy, age 1, little ladies popped in and gushed about this food and fell all over each other giving it “Rave Reviews!” Both LOVE the Gravy and are Delighted with the Tuna, like the crunchy Rice, and state that “here even the Shrimp is good.” (“We usually do not like Shrimp at all, at all. We do not even like Fancy Feast Fish and Shrimp!”Fancy Feast Gourmet Cat Food, Flaked Fish & Shrimp Feast, Flaked 3-Ounce Cans (Pack of 24) They are a bit spoiled. Finally, Mr. Yellow Kitty, Grand Male, age 10, weighed in very thoughtfully and stated that he liked this because the Tuna was not overwhelming, the shrimp added an understated taste explosion, the rice was good fiber for the older set, and “He especially likes the generous amount of Gravy.” “I COULD eat it every night if I needed to do so.) (Wouldn’t it be a dream to find six or seven varieties that THEY would eat night after night after night!!!!…an owner’s dream come true!)
The kitties stated that IF POSSIBLE, they would give this four and a half stars instead of five because not everyone would eat this everynight. Both Gabby and Trinity made it clear that about twice a week was all they could handle of this. “A bit too fishy” they state. But their lack of enthusiasm is trounched by the other three who are VERY FOND of this.
So there is the vote: two who like it OK and three who put it on the FAV LIST. And the kitties, Gabriella, Trinity, Wisdom, Mercy and Yellow Kitty say a big “thank you” for listening to their opinions. They feel like “they are the ones down there in the food bowls” and state “We ALWAYS give our HONEST OPINION.” So, thank you.

First and foremost, I cannot stress how important it is to feed your cat an all canned food diet – cats do not have a drive for thirst, so only a canned food diet will keep them correctly hydrated [diabetes, urine crystal free].
Important to learn: if you feed your cat all wet diet, they only need to drink 1oz of water a day to keep fully hydrated. If you feed your cat an all dry diet, they need to drink 7oz of water to keep hydrated. That’s a full cup of water!
Second, cat food must be high in protein, high to low in fat [depending if you want your cat to be lean], and have no more than 10% carbs. Dry foods are 30% plus percent carbs. Diabetes is rampant in older cats, and it’s recommended to keep their carb intake at 5-10%.
You should feed grain-free diet and feed meat from feathered birds, not beef, never fish. Grain free almost always means high fat, so be careful if you want to keep your cats lean and healthy.
I feed this Fancy Feast formula, plus Merrick’s cowboy cookout or grammy pot pie [grain free, low fat], plus wellness turkey and chicken formulas [grain free, low protein, high fat]. I use Fancy Feast to entice the cat then they eat whatever else is in their dish [wellness, etc]. Grain free food, while great for them, doesn’t really taste great.
This formula is: 56% protein 33% fat 10% carbs 74 calories per can
