    I Don’t Have to Like It, April 24, 2014

My cats are not crazy about this food, but they are fat, and that must change. They don’t hate it like they did the last variety I bought for them – when they would eat a couple bits and then come to stare at me, wherever I was. It is the right shape and the right size to prevent the gagging that so frequently accompanies them wolfing food down when their portions are cut. The nutrient list is pretty positive and their fur and eyes are looking good, so they may have to learn to like it. No hairballs.

I read a number of reviews for dry cat food before settling, originally, on the organic version of this. One day when I was standing at the local pet store I flipped this bag over and the organic one. At the time, the ingredient list on this version had more protein ingredients up front and less vegetable filler compared to the organic version… and it cost less. My cats made the switch, and for a few years now there have been no ill effects other than saving about 10-20 bucks a bag on this food.

    Pros:
•Cost (compared to organic or other more premium foods, DO NOT PAY MORE than ~25.00 for this)
•Goes on sale or coupon fairly often compared to other brands or the organic version.
•At the time I write this, you can get prime shipping on this.

    Cons:
    •Cost – it’s still middle priced

I figured my kitty wouldnt like this food since it seems she knows when her kibbles are diet and I am trying to help her loose weight : ) But this one she loves – and has since lost the excess pounds gained when I stupidly overfed her for months based on the ‘reccomended’ dosage on other bags. The vet since told me that indoor cats can comfortable live off 1/4-1/2 cup of dry food a day. I give mine 1/4 in the morning and 1/4 at night. She is still a little fatty at heart and begs for rotisserie chicken when I have it – but she seems happy, healthy and not starving with this particular weight management food. OH and her coat is amazing shiny and soft too.

I am feeding 4 baby racoons, I have not seen their mother, but they are hungry and seem to be on their own. Thank God for Amazon and their reasonable price for this cat food.. They come every evening around 6 pm and eat a large bowl of this ( every little morsel is cleaned up) with another very large bowl of fresh water which they all drink out of and then wash their hands and feet in it.
    THANK-YOU AMAZON!

My male cat got his urine blocked by crystals. The first thing my vet asked me was what was i feeding him. Stay away from their dry foods at all cost. Usuaslly people buy it cause its really cheap. But guess what i payed 700 bucks to get my cat well again . Their wet food is ok but the dry is really bad for them. I started him on cat chow blue bag and he never had a problem again. I do mix water with the dry and he likes it. He gets his water needs before he eats the the dry food.

    Decent Food., June 8, 2015

It is a decent dry food. It has some dyes in it but not as much as Meow Mix. My cats eat it and they like it. I like that it is reasonably priced and that it is not too shabby for what it is. I do think canned is the best but sometimes its not reasonable to feed. Especially for the colony cats, there are quite a few of them. All TNR. I have not noticed any tummy upsets or loose stools from them eating this food.
