    Finally!!!!, April 28, 2009
    By
    Maria (Wahiawa, HI) –

My cat stopped using her box since late last summer. It’s now almost May. We thought it was because of some crystallization found in her urine. We treated that with medicine from her doctor. She still went on the floor (right outside her box). I tried buying a new litterbox. I tried buying 2 boxes- one for her and one for her sister. I tried using a different kinds of litter (including World’s Best and Feline Pine-which is awesome and I will eventually go back to). I tried using Feliway. Nothing ever changed. Eventually, I just gave up and bought puppy pads for the floor so it would be easier to clean up. I never thought that this stuff would work because the active ingredient is just “natural herbs”, which to me translated to catnip and my cat couldn’t care less about catnip.

Finally, when I called the vet back to get a refill on her Prozac, a different doctor called back and suggested that I try this stuff. What the heck, right? I tried everything else. Originally, I just bought the additive and added it to the Feline Pine ’cause I just figured buying both their litter and the additive was a marketing ploy. She didn’t respond to that, so I bought the actual Cat Attract litter and added the litter additive. She has used the litter box now ever since!!!

I never write reviews. Even if I really love a product, I just forget. This stuff impressed me so much I had to let everyone know.

    Saved our cat’s life, November 26, 2010

Our cat was diabetic (it has since remitted) and had been urinating *everywhere* but in the litter box. We tried everything and nothing worked until we gave “Cat Attract” a try. We weren’t expecting anything, but we were getting to the point that the cat was ruining the house (hardwood floors, walls, woodwork, wall-to-wall carpeting) and euthanasia was on the table.

From the first use of this litter, we have had 100% litter box use. This is the obvious benefit. The attraction is so strong that as soon as I top up the boxes, the cat runs in to use the fresh litter.

Along those lines, you also must be careful where you store the bag. If our cat can get to the bag, she will urinate on/in it!

The drawbacks are the price and the weight. It’s not cheap litter–but it is better than the alternative for us. Also, this is the densest litter I’ve ever wrangled. The 40 lb. bag is not easy to handle.

It clumps well and neutralizes odors fine–like any litter, if you scoop it every day (or up to three/four in a pinch) it controls the odor well. After that, all bets are off.

It does track a bit, but it’s not the worst I’ve used.

Overall, I am completely happy with this product and very happy with the fact that it allowed us time to control the diabetes and focus on that issue instead of ripping out carpeting and throwing away rugs!

We have a cat that is 17 years old
We started to have litter box issues
Sometimes she’d use it, sometimes not

Our cat is an extremely stubborn old cat
we were at the end of our rope my hubby and I
Being our cat is geriatric, we were thinking some type of kidney function problem
BUT after a clean bill of health from the vet
(Turns out she was having marking problems due to other
feral (outdoor) cats that would sometimes get into our yard)
And as cat owners know, once a cat “pees” in a “chosen” spot they
Then think it’s okay to continue it there

Our vet told us of the cat attract litter
and that the compounds in the litter actually
make the cat want to use the box and reduce stresses
for the urge of a cat to mark and such.(And even though we still get other feline visitors, outdoors)
It has been six months now and her outside the litter box accidents are a thing of the past.

It has been a life saver for us and our carpet.
If all else fails and you check your cat for possible medical conditions first
Try this litter it may help your situation too
    Thanks!

I love this company and it’s product. Their customer support is second to none. Having said that, I do have an issue with the ever increasing price of the cartridges. When I bought mine, a box of six replacement cartridges was about $75.00. It is now over $95.00. I have three cats which makes this cost prohibitive, as I have to change mine out every ten days or so,making a box of six cartridges last 2 months. Doing the math, I am spending $45.00 a month in cat litter. This is unacceptable. I think this company should drop their price of replacement cartridges!

Best system I’ve ever used, November 15, 2007

This product is the best litter system I’ve ever used. But you don’t have to buy these cardboard cartridges. Go to e-bay and look for “forever cartridges” there’s a guy that makes these out of pvc and you can buy the crystal litter to fill them. It costs me about 1/2 as opposed to buying the scoop free cartridges.

    Perfect, August 9, 2007

I have three cats. Two females, and a male. When I bought this unit and started using the cartridges, the oldest female was 13. There was an adopted male that was 1, and a female rescue cat (horribly set upon by mange and god knows what else during the three months she spent in the alley before we rescued her), who was also about 1.

I was concerned that the alley cat would have issues adapting to a new box. She did not – even though she absolutely *hated* the male cat and did whatever she could to avoid him. But she used the same litter box that he did. Almost two years later, she still hisses at the male cat and acts tough with him (he still thinks she’s playing, the dork; he has no idea that she wants him roasting over a firepit like a stuck pig and considers his attempts to play an act of war), but she still shares the same litter box.

This was a godsend. If you have problems with the litter or the unit, be sure to call the company first before abandoning it. I noticed one reviewer here who did that, and the solution to their problem was very simple and quick.

EDIT 9/29: The price for this item continues to climb. For a while it was around $70, then $80, now it’s nearly $100. This system is becoming more and more popular, so it would stand to reason that the price should be dropping. Go figure.
