   I have been a professional cat sitter for decades. I have used Cosequin several times for cats and have never had a problem until now. I would STILL recommend the regular Cosequin. It is the additive “Boswellia” that I had an issue with. Three cats so far have had reactions to this particular Cosequin with the Boswellia added. It causes them to wheeze, as if they are asthmatic or as if they have severe upper respiratory issues.

   When I stopped dosing the Cosequin/Boswellia, the symptoms disappeared. When I Googled “possible side effects” of this supplement, “trouble breathing” is listed as a possible canine side effect but not as a possible feline side effect. I have since written to Cosequin to inform them of my experiences. PLEASE, IF YOU GIVE THIS TO YOUR CAT, WATCH HIM OR HER VERY CLOSELY. The wheezing with the cats I am referring to started after just 2 doses, but it might take longer for your cat to show a sensitivity. I WOULD ADVISE PEOPLE TO STICK TO THE ORIGINAL COSEQUIN, WITHOUT THIS ADDITIVE. THE ORIGINAL HAS ALWAYS BEEN A RELIABLE PRODUCT, IN MY EXPERIENCE.

   Finiky cat doesn’t know it’s there!, November 20, 2014

   My cat is 15 and WAS limping around with pain in her front shoulder. Started putting this on a small amount of wet food ( it is a treat, she gets dry food on a regular basis.) She is actually begging for her “treat” every morning, gobbles it right up. She is 11 lbs but I only give her one capsule a day and she is moving around great. Actually does that sporadic “bolt for no reason through the house” again. I may up her dose to 2 over the cold winter. Not sure about the negative review haven’t had an issue, this is my second order.

   My 19 year old cat was limping with her hind leg. She would even collapse on it. I put this on her food before bed and in the three plus weeks I have been using it she is her old self again. She even sat up on her hind legs tonight when I brought out the food. I am totally pleased with the results. I will continue to use this for her. It’s a small price to pay for your fur any to feel better.
