   This is the cutest little cat ‘costume’. It’s also the very first one I’d ever thought about buying and then bought. I wasn’t sure how my cat would like it, but I thought he might, because he pretty much lets me do anything to him…within reason, of course. My ‘Buddy’ is the chillest cat I’ve ever known. He is such a sweetheart and so, so laid back. We (my husband and I) rescued him from a Cat Shelter during a birthday getaway, back in March of 2013. We had just found out my dad had Stage IV Lung Cancer and he that didn’t have very long. It was the saddest time of my life, but adopting my cat was a true ‘Blessing in disguise’ for me. We’ve been pretty much inseparable since the day we took him from the shelter. Buddy is basically my best friend and I take him whenever and to wherever I can. He even likes riding in the car. Anyways, I have dressed him up in a Seahawk jersey before (#25 Sherman) and he tolerates that quite well. Not so much his new lion’s mane, but he will let me put it on him and take pictures of him. He’ll actually wear it, but the look on his face says he’s not all that thrilled. I usually take it off after a few minutes. He looks absolutely adorable to me. I mean, no matter what he does, he is the handsomest, most gorgeous cat ever and he never takes a bad picture. I know that’s what most cat mamas say about their ‘furbabies’, but Buddy really is something special…
   This is a very well made lion’s mane headgear/hat/wig. It looks very real, like real fur, especially from far away and in photos. It is made out of 100% Polyester and it is very soft, especially the lining. The mane has a collar that attaches around your pet’s neck, using Velcro. I put some catnip on it last night and my Buddy attacked it with back hind legs and all his teeth and started to rip at it. All is well, though. it held up very well and it’s still in perfect condition. I plan to ‘let’ Buddy wear it on every now and again, on special occasions and for Halloween. This would work with other pets, too…like your small dogs and puppies. I bet you can even use it on a newborn human baby, too. That would be so cute…but just for a few minutes. They also include a cute little toy white mouse. Put some catnip on it and watch your cat turn into the stalking, hunting machine that he/she is.

   This is a cute little costume for your cat or small dog. It’s easy to put on since it has a velcro neck that opens, and it stays put but still allows the pet to get out of it if they need to.

   This Lion Mane Cosplay wig has brought us so many giggles (and our dear kitty so many treats for compliance to wear it) that it’s one of my favorite wearables that we have gotten her so far. Putting it on her was so easy because of the large velcro closure right beneath the chin area–just slip it on and press the flaps closed. Now, having our little furgirl leave it on was a bit more challenging, but she is a quick learner and tolerated it after being given some treats while having it on as well as after taking it off, but your mileage may vary according to your own cat’s disposition.

   I was very surprised at the quality of the workmanship which features a fully lined inner portion of the same fabric that the ears are made of while the faux fur is fluffy and soft and oh-so-cute!
   The first few times we put it on her, she kept bending her head down and taking it off with her paw (she is a smaller cat and has a tiny neck circumference). However, after learning that she would receive treats to leave it on, she did tolerate it and allow us to get some very cute photos, even though she refused to “smile” in any of them 🙂 She did like the sweet little white mouse toy that was thoughtfully included, what a sweet bonus!

   Although I received this item at a discount in exchange for my review, this in no way affected my rating or review for this adorable and very well-made Lion Mane Cosplay wig. I only accept offers/discounts for products that appear to be of good workmanship, that I already want or for items that I believe we will enjoy or will find useful to us in some way. After I have sufficient hands-on personal experience with the product, I then share my honest and forthright opinions and insights of the item(s) in my reviews.

   The care instructions state to wash this, simply hand wash and hang to dry. Given that this is hand-washable and the quality of materials and workmanship, I expect this to be something we will be able to use and enjoy for a long time.
