   When I brought this toy home, my kitten could not get enough of it. He loved chasing the mouse around. But then I noticed he started to lose interest. I didn’t know why, I just thought he was getting bored with it. He would play with it for a minute or two, but then stop. Today I figured it out. When my kitties claws are sharp it is too easy for him to “catch” the mouse. So the mouse doesn’t run away around the circle of the toy because it snags on his claws. Today I clipped his claws and he is once again thrilled with this toy! The mouse keeps running away and he keeps trying to catch it! So in short, if your cat seems to have lost interest and you haven’t clipped his claws in a bit, try clipping them.

   I ordered this as a gift for a friend of mine who has cats (i’m a dog person myself). I noticed that one of her cats in particular, is always clawing at everything (furniture, shoes, clothes, etc). I figured for the price, it would be worth a shot to help her prevent more damage to her belongings.

   I’m happy to say that this has been a great deterrent. Her “problem cat” has become a completely different kitty. He sits and plays with this thing until he’s worn out (and then he naps). What a great products for a low price!

   I’d love to have something similar for my dogs to play with. Sometimes, they have more energy than I can keep up with!
