I have three fur babies, one Terrier and two Shih Tzu’s, and it gets expensive keeping them groomed. I was excited to try this set out when I received them. They came in a zippered, black case to help take care of them. The scissors are made of stainless steel so they will not rust. I like the round tip of the scissors, it makes me feel safer trimming around their faces. I used the thinning scissors around their chin, and top of their heads, it really made a difference in their look. I received this product at a discounted price for my hones and unbiased review.

I used to work at a professional dog grooming shop but I quit half a year ago. Now I groom my friends’ pets as a hobby but lately, and based on most of my friends’ advice, I’ve started thinking about making it into my own little business. My previous set of dog grooming tools were already dull, rusted and worn out from using it for so long so I was looking into getting a new set of tools. Back in my days at the grooming shop, I’ve worked with lots of different products and tools from lots of different supply companies but I was never quite satisfied with any of them. I would be at first, but then some of them would break or become dull in the worst moments. I’m sort of a perfectionist so I’m extremely particular with the things I use so you can imagine how this makes me upset. So I hopped online to look for a new set of grooming shears and I ran into this one. I wasn’t convinced at first because it looked too basic and simple for my liking. But the price was reasonable and I figured that if I was testing it out, I wouldn’t need too many tools in one grooming set. The scissors and thinning shears were enough for a quick tester and I’m not gonna lie: it’s actually one of the best I’ve tried so far. At least, in my point of view. The scissors fit my fingers perfectly and the weight is just right (some of my previous shears were heavy and bulky) so it doesn’t give me this dull, weary feeling after holding it for so long. The shears are sharp and they do the job well. They’re lightweight and I can keep them in a neat little leather bag that isn’t bulky or heavy in my bag when I bring it around to my friends’ houses, so that’s a great thing. The only thing I have to test out now is if it manages to hold for a long time, but it’s looking pretty good.
Overall I’m happy with my purchase. It’s a good product from a good company and since I’ve been hoping to dabble a little into show dog grooming, I’m going to keep a lookout for this company in case they release any new line of professional dog and cat grooming tools.

These are a pretty nice set of grooming scissors that come in their own case. I really like that. I’m constantly hunting my grooming scissors and this has solved that problem for me. The scissors feel solid and of high quality. The blades are very sharp. I used them to groom one of my Yorkies. I have never had thinning scissors and I love these. It’s very hard to cut a long coat in a layered style without having edges showing without using thinning scissors. I really love the way the coat now blends going from the shoulders into the legs. It is a much nicer flow. Also from the chin, which on my Yorkies I tend to keep shorter and the hair now blends very nicely into the hair on the neck. The same goes for the hair on the hips going into the back legs. I am so much happier using the thinning scissors to finish the cut on my dog. The reason for only four stars in I had a little trouble with the regular scissors. It seems like the blade angle is just a little off. I found I had a little difficulty cutting with them. I do have to say that I have been using very cheap scissors and perhaps I’m not as proficient in using a higher quality scissor. All I can say there were times when I had the hair between my fingers and went to make the cut and didn’t cut all the hair. I felt the blades and they are definitely sharp, so I have to suspect the angle is off or just different from what I’m used to. I will update this review when I have had a chance to use the scissors a few more times (with seven yorkies currently in residence it won’t take long!) The case has bands inside to hold the scissors in place and they slide in and out with no trouble. The case closes with a zipper so there’s no chance of your scissors falling out. I keep all my grooming supplies in a canvas basket and things tend to get tossed around when I’m hunting for something. That’s probably why I spend so much time hunting for my grooming scissors. The part where the scissors are joined with a screw seems tight, no wobble on the blades. The blade action is very smooth. I didn’t see any burrs on the blades at all, just a very clean, sharp edge. The thinning scissors have a finger rest but the regular scissors do not. They way I was taught to use scissors made use of that feature, so that could be why I’m having a hard time with the scissors. Like I said, I’ll have to use them a few times to see if I get better with them or continue to have the same problem. The other scissors I have been using didn’t have the rounded tip on them and I really like that I don’t have to be as concerned with poking with the points anymore. Especially when you are trimming around the face and you have a Yorkie that has decided to look in the other direction just as you’re about to cut. This set seems to be very high quality with a nice weight to them. The case is a definite bonus and protects the scissors from getting lost or scratched up in my grooming basket. They were shipped to me very quickly and arrived very well packaged. If you’re looking for a nice set of scissors to add to your “grooming basket” I would recommend these for the thinning scissors and the case. The scissors themselves are in question, but I suspect it’s my error in handling them. I received these at a discount for my honest opinion and hope this review helps you.
