Well, more importantly, my cat Sophie loves it. She would spend hours chasing and pouncing the fish and feathers if I would just keep playing with her and not do anything else. None of the other toys are as interesting as this one. She has other pole/string toys and has broken them within minutes, but this toy is much more sturdy and we’ve played for hours and haven’t even lost a feather yet. Which is surprising since that is usually the first thing to go. She loves to dig her nails in for the attack and if I lay the pole down for a minute, she continues to play with the fish on her own, Since she has been having such fun with this toy, I also ordered the similar toy with only feathers. I have not taken that one out yet; I plan to use that as a spare when she eventually shreds the fish. Sophie has always enjoyed feathered toys, but usually has all the feathers out within one or two play sessions. I hope that the straight feather toys will last at least as long as the fish & feather teaser has. I also like the bounce of the pole and like others have mentioned, it stays together and it is easy to hold.

    Hey man,

Honestly, I was super surprised that the maker of the Cat Wand I bought reached out to me so quickly after I bought it. Amazon was more than quick about getting it here, all my stuff arrived maybe within a couple days, and I selected ‘5-8 days’ shipping, so that was surprising.

I just got a cat this december. I like to tell everyone ‘I STOLE him from an apartment complex.’ Really though, he’s one of those strays whose family probably moved away without him. He had worms, but the vet fixed that, and took out a bunch of rotten teeth. Cat is probably 8-10 years old, according to the vet.

I’ve never owned a cat before, so I’m new to whole cat toys thing. All I know is if if you buy a cat bed, they’ll probably sleep in the box it came in instead. Anyway, so I’m new to cat stuff, and I wanted to give Cat a chance to play a little once he got a little more meat on his bones. So I looked around, and I didn’t really see anything in Petco or Petsmart that I thought would be a good purchase. Everything had weird bits of plastic, and some had weird metal claps to connect the feather toy thing to the wand, like the clasps you see on military dogtags. I wanted a decent product. So I went to amazon, and there were other cat wands that were cheaper, but when I clicked on your item, it looked like you guys put a lot of thought into the toy. No other item page on Amazon mentioned anything about the ‘wand’ part of the toy being tested for ability to bend and not break. I also liked the elastic cord that that little feather fish can attach to. I’m not made of money, but I’d way rather spend what I have on a good product that will last, by a company invested in their product.

Anyway, the cat wand arrived. Cat is pretty mellow, it’s been about 2 weeks since he had the 9 teeth pulled, so he’s feeling a bit better now. And he really loved the cat wand. The fish is nice and big for him to smack at, the feathers are hella fluffy and all that. He plays pretty gently for now, I’ll see how athletic I can get him to be in the next few weeks. So far, I get tired of playing with it before he does. He’s pretty happy with it.

Thanks for making a good product. I hope you have a pleasant Holiday season.

    -Rosie (& Cat)

2 Fish and Feather Teaser, Strong and high Quality!, April 2, 2015

This simple but very effective toy is the ‘new’ thrill of both of our cats. Our female is 9 years old and our male is still a “kitten” (about 4 months old), but he’s as big as she is at this point.

Our cats are strictly “indoor” pets and both of them have their own, unique way of playing. The young male is an acrobatic nut! This Feather Teaser toy is right down his alley!

The string is well attached to the wand and about 3.5 to 4 feet long. At the end of the string is a snap clevis & swivel, much like what you may see on some fishing rigs.

The snap-swivel is easy to open and the two ‘fish-birds’, (I like to think of them as such, lol), have a very well attached, metal eyelet swivel just like the one on the end of the string except without the snap clevis part of it.

You can quickly attach either of the feathered ‘cat lures’ to the string and/or make additional variations to snap on when you feel like a change. You can also buy them, (we bought a “bumble bee” looking one but haven’t received it yet)

Each ‘fish-bird’ is very well sewn together and of surprisingly high quality materials. They’re both about 7 inches long and roughly that wide when you measure across the feathers.

The body of each toy is about 4 inches by 1.5 inches without the feathers and tail. The body is stuffed and about an inch thick and the material is strong, yet soft and flexible. There’s a loop sewn into the nose and threaded through the eyelet of the swivel and again, it’s very sturdy and well sewn.

The wands are each about 17 inches long. There’s also a two inch long, threaded coupler that allows you to screw the two wands together making a single, 32 inch, and VERY flexible, wand!

I can’t say enough about those wands, really! They have the perfect amount of flex and when you connect them together, the flex is so good, that our male cat literally can’t break it!

That’s saying a lot because he has broken several wands from other manufacturers with no problem. The cats have a cat ‘tower house’ and there’s a small hole in the very top of the highest enclosure.

Though I doubt either of our cats will tear these feather toys apart, (even the feathers are very well attached), our male cat has already bit through the string. That’s not a problem, we simply tie the two severed ends together and we’re back in the game.

If he winds up doing that too many times, (my guess is that he will), we’ll simply tie on a new length of kite string or maybe some nylon as a replacement. Because the male is still young and careless, he’s been able to get himself wrapped up by the strings of these kinds of toys.

Therefore, we don’t leave them unattended with this toy. Just like a small child, the string could pose a danger if he gets into a tangle and then, (like most young cats), goes into a panic because he’s now realizing his situation.

So we do recommend that you stay close by when they’re playing with this, or any similar wand/string toy. When they’re done, (or you are, whichever comes first), put the thing away where they can’t reach it.

When we want to take a break but the cats don’t, we simply slip the two assembled wands into the hole and allow the feathered toy to dangle down from there. They sneak up, grab the toy and jump off the platform they were on at the time.

Of course, the toy goes with them, and the wands will bend almost in half! The tension on the rig reaches its maximum and the toy is pulled free of the cat’s grip, (claws or teeth). Then, it slingshots back and that return action, stimulates them. They frantically chase it back down only to repeat the process almost to the point that the ‘cycle’ runs itself!

The “Cat Toy Interactive Cat Wand” or, if you prefer, the “2 Fish and Feather Teaser”, is a great, reusable pet toy that can be kept interesting to your pets by simply changing the ‘lure’ with a different one from time to time.

It’s surprisingly well made for the low price and it’s simple. But then, as most cat owners know, the simplest toys, (a paper bag or cardboard box), are often the best as far as the cats are concerned!
