I WAS a groomer for six years but now I no longer have the perk of being able to take my dogs to work and groom them. So I bought this little dryer for home. It’s not as powerful as the $400 to $500 machines but is outstanding for its size and cost. My wife (ex groomer also) and I bathed and dried 4 dogs in less than an hour. A Rottweiler, German Shepard mix, Lab/Collie mix and a long haired Chihuahua. It does have enough force to blow out undercoat.
It is surprisingly quiet also. For those of you who said it was too loud, sound is nothing more than rapid changes in air pressure. All the noise comes from blowing air. Physics will not allow for completely silent high velocity forced air. The dryer itself makes very little sound.
As for it scaring dogs and matting hair… The dryers at your local groom shop are definitely louder and your dogs are terrified there also. Unless they are completely dryed by a crate dryer. Crate dryers are still noisy but don’t blow air directly onto your dog in a concentrated fashion as does this type of dryer. Matting and tangling long hair will certainly result if you don’t know what you’re doing. You must not put the nozzle close and brushing during drying will help avoid excessive tangling.
I highly recommend this to any competent person that wants to groom their dogs at home.

I’m very satisfied with this dryer. I’m a professional groomer and work at a grooming shop but I wanted something at home so I can groom my own pup and maybe do some work from home on days I’m not in the shop. It dried my corgi in about the same time the ones we have at the shop do, a little less high powered maybe. My only complaint is that the air hose is kind of short and doesn’t stretch very well. But maybe that will get better with time. The noise is very low for a high velocity dryer–so that’s a great plus! For the price–I’m definitely satisfied with what I got and would recommend it for anyone grooming at home.

In the past year, I have bought almost all the grooming supplies I could possibly need to groom my dog at home because I’m tired of going to the dog salon and not getting exactly what I want in my dogs’ cut and paying about $80 each time.
I have the Master Equipment Bone Shaped grooming table, the Ed Geib curved shears, Safari dematting comb, Andis stainless steel comb, Andis shears, cool care plus spray, round tip shears, Miracle Coat slicker brush and so many other tools for my cavapoo.
Now that we have added another doodle in our family very recently, I bit the bullet and ordered this Go Pet dryer. I have to say, besides the grooming table, this is the second best grooming investment I have made. My pups on the other hand are trying to not hate it.
Doodles take so long to dry with a human hair dryer, this dryer shaves off at least 50% time compared to using a human hair dryer. It is light to carry around, the hose is definitely long enough as long as you pull it apart to extend it, 2 heat and strength settings (high heat only gets wam though).
I’m excited to be grooming my dogs again soon!
