   I’ve had cats for most of my life, and trimming their nails is a necessary chore that they always seem to hate no matter what. They refuse to stoically endure a few minutes of harmless grooming, and instead wiggle around and make the whole process take ten times as long. I’ve used different styles of nail trimmers over the years, and this style is definitely one of the better ones. It has the sharp, curved blade of a guillotine cutter but is much smaller and easier to grip. And since the cutting area is so small and curved inward it’s much easier to ensure that nothing but the nail will be cut. This makes the whole nail trimming process a little bit faster, at least for me. Any amount of time saved is a win in my book, since it gives the cats less time to reach maximum wiggle capacity and escape from me.

   The only con I’ve found for these is the difficulty in trimming smaller cats’ nails that have grown long. I have an adult cat with tiny baby nails that are difficult to trim anyway, but then she also puts up the biggest fight when I try to clip them. So her nails grow longer than the other cats’. Trying to fit the clippers under and around the nail is the part that’s difficult, since once the nail curves downward too much there isn’t much space between it and the paw. I’m still able to trim them; it’s just a bit harder. As long as I keep her nails trimmed and don’t allow them to grow too much, there isn’t any problem.

   These pet nail clippers are extremely easy to use and have really sharp blades. These clippers feel a lot like scissors when using them. The only thing that I wish was different would be a safety stop on the clippers to make sure you don’t over clip the nail (because my pet does move around during clipping and it can make a huge difference).

   I received this product at a discount in exchange for my honest and unbiased review. While I like these clippers and they’re very sharp, they are also very basic.
