   We have an indoor/outdoor cat that is the color of pavement, so I like to put a reflective collar on her. Over the last week, she has gone through a collar nearly every day. In desperation, I ordered this collar after reading a review that said it stayed on better than some they had used before…and it’s true! The safety catch on this collar does not seem as sensitive as some of the others, so she’s not pulling it off by the occasional trip-up. It still opens when yanked, so if she were truly caught, it would come off. I check the catch periodically to make sure it is still closed all the way. So far, she’s had it on a week. If your cat is losing safety collars left and right, give this one a try!

   I was hesitant to buy an emergency release collar because I didn’t want my cat losing his collar somewhere. However, I am surprised and pleased with this product. It is very reflective, even under his long fur. The collar withstands a lot of tug and pull from rough housing with his sister, too, which is good.

   I’m giving only 4 stars because there was one time where we found his collar unfastened and just sitting on the couch. I’m not sure what caused it to come unhooked, but by the looks of it, he was able to just kick it off. While you want the collar to release in a desperate situation, you don’t want the collar to release when your cat scratches its neck.

   Overall, I would recommend this collar for anyone who has a cat that goes outside at night. It’s pretty durable and highly increases visibility.

   Well, I have three. But one of them in particular is fond of making sculptures in the wild with his cat collars. We assume this, of course, because he loses about a collar a week or so. To avoid libel, I’ll say that sometimes he keeps the same collar for a month or so. Because of this I’ve become an expert in cat collars. This product matches my expectations, and his, as he has been wearing it for a little over a week now and seems to enjoy it 🙂 Buy it with full confidence.
