I wanted to get this product because I feel as though every time I clean my pets they don’t seem to get clean all the way down to their skin. Their hair is just so thick! I really try to use my fingers to get in there really well but it just doesn’t completely do the job. I wanted to see if this would help me not have to work so hard and it really does. It works great. You don’t have to put in a lot of effort to build up a really good lather. My pets also seem to sit still a lot more when we are doing this and I think that it is because it feels so good for them. Their hair also feels a lot better as well, I’m sure its because it is getting so much cleaner. I love this brush and I think that every pet owner should get one. I have a lot of cats, but unless they have fleas or get into some kind of mess, I rarely bathe them. So I am using this brush more as a massage brush when they are dry, although I can see how it would work excellently as a brush you can use WHILE washing them. It would probably allow you to really get the soap and lather deep into their fur to get them extra, extra clean.
As a regular fur brush it has its pros and cons. Cons are that it tends to brush the hair OFF the animals onto their tail or onto the surface that you’re brushing the cat on. MORE hair is brushed OFF the cat than what sticks to the brush. HOWEVER, the main pro of that situation is that with the brush being rubber or silicone, it seems to build up a static charge because you can VERY EASILY just touch the mass of hair that’s pushed off your animals and it magically sticks to the brush. It also easily brushed up the hair that stuck to the surface the cat was on (in my case, the table cloth); I just brushed the table cloth and the hair picked up and stayed stuck to the brush for easy clean up.
It’s VERY easy to clean with your hands. You can grab the mass of hair and it’s all off. But again, being silicone based, you can also rinse it with a little soap and water and wash off any small particles of hair that might still be sticking to it. I washed mine and then just shook it dry.
It’s an excellent massage tool. My cat was purring from the first second the brush touched her. She LOVED it. So it can be used simply as a massage tool to put your cat or dog in a better mood AND you’ll get the added advantage of removing any excess hair from them at the same time. If you’re working with a short haired animal, it’ll probably work more as just a massage tool. My girl (pictured) is quite long haired and she needs to be brushed more often. This was a nice way to give her a massage while I brushed off her excess hair.
Because the tool is made out of silicone and there are no pointy edges, I had no fear about pressing too hard on the cat. There was absolutely no way to press in too deeply and no way to scratch or hurt her with any bristles because there is nothing sharp, rough, or pointy on this brush.
I also wanted to mention that the handle is very comfortable and the soft grip staves off fatigue when your pet wants you to KEEP brushing them for HOURS at a time! (Can you tell my cats are spoiled?). lol

First off, I have to say I am in love with the Furminator (popular deshedding tool). However, I have two cats and each one presents a slightly different problem when we are talking “furmination” (is that a thing?):
Cat 1 hates being brushed. I’m not sure why, but it is a struggle getting her to stick around long enough for me to get a good brushing session in. I thought maybe she wasn’t a fan of how sharp the Furminator blade was.
Cat 2 LOVES being brushed. She would sit still and be brushed all day if you had the time. But, the Furminator blade was not really intended to be used all day every day so I was looking for something a bit softer for her.
After using this on both of my cats, here are some pros/cons/thoughts:
Pros: -Very soft, squishy handle – Good for long term use (softer/less sharp than other deshedding tools) – Provides a nice massage – Easy to clean – Was gentle enough to give to my toddler to “help” with the cat grooming duties
Cons: -Soft squishy handle collects hair very easily -Didn’t remove stray hairs as well as I had hoped (then again, I am comparing it to the leading deshedding brand/style so that might not be fair). It certainly was better than what you could remove by just petting your animal, but it did not appear that it was the main purpose for this tool.
Overall, I think this would be best used as more of a massage tool for everyday brushing. I would not recommend it if you are specifically looking for something to help detangle fur or to reduce shedding. In addition, it would be GREAT for baths since it doesn’t have any metal that could rust. Cat 1 unfortunately did not enjoy this any more or less than other tools. Cat 2, however did enjoy this just as much as anything else, and it was much easier on her skin for the prolonged brushing session.
