   Our two male cats are Maine Coons. If you’re not familiar with the breed, they are large cats with long hair and a double coat. We love them but they have a lot of hair and shed constantly. Normal pet combs and brushes including the Furminator just do not get much hair out when we use them. This style brush with the hooked ends really grabs onto the loose hair and every time we use it we are astonished with the large pile of hair that it removes. And it’s gentle because it’s only pulling out hair that’s already loose for our boys don’t mind it a bit. Our younger one actually moves around while we’re combing him to make sure we don’t miss a spot.

   Our older male is 18 and he doesn’t groom as well as he used to and has developed some matted hair clumps on his tummy. Regular pet brushes weren’t able to do much and we tried gently trimming parts of them but didn’t want to risk cutting skin so we never got all of them. We were beginning to think we’d have to have him shaved at a groomer to get rid of them and knew at his age he would be traumatized so we had been putting it off. This little comb works like a charm – we insert it into the clump of matted hair and gently work it out and it removes the whole clump at once. Our guy isn’t too happy about the process because even though we’re gentle there is some tugging involved on the hair that is still stuck to his skin while we’re removing the matted part, but it doesn’t actually hurt him – it just annoys him. And at his age a lot of things annoy him, so we just made sure to do a couple matted areas at a time and over the course of a few days he was clump free! And I can tell he feels much better being rid of those clumps of hair. So many combs claim they are good at dematting, but really aren’t. This one does the job and easily at that!

   From a people perspective, the comb is well made and the rubberized grip is comfortable to hold even with my arthritic hands. I really love this comb and wish I had discovered this style years ago. We will always have one available from now on.

   Bottom line: Would I recommend to friends and family? Yes. Do I believe it’s worth paying full price? Yes, the price on this one is more reasonable than a lot of the competition right now. Prices change often on the site and there are several available in this style so be sure to price shop.

   Oh my gosh finally a dematting comb that works!!!! We have a ragamuffin cat, which is a very large and longhair breed. She gets so many mats on her rear area and they are so difficult to remove. This has changed our struggle with removing them. It really works. It has two sides with the blades being a different width on each side so you can start out with the large side and finish with the other side. It takes time so you do not hurt your precious kitty but it is so much easier than all of the other methods we have tried. Our kitty would give this ten stars too if she could!!!!!

   I have to say, trying this was a great surprise. Passbooks Pet Dematting Comb is easy to use, sturdy and works great!

   We have two long haired dachshunds and one whom always has mats in her hair. In addition, she always fights us when we are trying to brush those out. Well, with this Dematting comb by Pawaboo, not only does it work wonders, but our puppy doesn’t move or seem bothered by it. While using the product, we got tons of hair that we didn’t even know was there waiting to get all over our bed!

   The first time we used it, our bed sheets had a lot was dog hair than before. We had tried to use other products before, this one was not only the only one that worked best, but also my dog didn’t mind.

   Overall, great product for pets! As with all my reviews, they are based on my own personal opinion and results in my testing. This particular product was given to me as a review product and the review reflected is based on my reviews and not based on getting products at a discount or for review. I stand by my review of this product as a: 5 star product!
