This review is from: Daisen tech Rechargeable Cordless Professional Home Pet Dogs And Cats Grooming Trimming Clipper Kit (Misc.)
We have a 17-year-old Himalayan cat who simply can’t cope with her full coat in terms of grooming. While she views clipping as torture, it’s still less stressful to do it at home, sometimes in stages (yes, there are times when we have a cat with three shaved strips in an otherwise full coat running around the house). In warm weather, we keep her in a lion cut and the rest of the year I do her throat, chest, “armpits”, belly, and “bikini line”, where the majority of matting and mess can occur.
I normally use a regular pair of men’s hair clippers but the past two have burned out too fast, overheated quickly, and tugged a lot, adding to our cat’s distaste for the whole process. I liked the idea of this being cordless and having a narrower head to make it easier to get into all the necessary nooks.
The instructions are, indeed, all in Chinese, and the unit comes with a Chinese plug but also an adapter. As a surprise, it comes fully charged, which I thought a bit odd–but quite nice. The unit doesn’t have an “auto shut-off” or alert light to let you know when charging is done, and instructions warn you not to plug it in for more than 2 hours at a go or you’ll short out the battery, which is a concern.
It’s very quiet and light, and I was convinced it was going to be useless. Imagine my surprise when it made short work of kitty’s full winter coat, undercoat and all. As is the usual case with her, any shorter guides are useless (the fur is just too dense to allow them), so I use the clipper bare, without a guide, and just take care not to nick her. I had to pull fur free of the teeth quite frequently, but the clippers never jammed or tugged, not even once, and never overheated like the mains clippers used to.
The clipper held charge all the way through the clipping and is still at “full”, going by the light. I can’t comment on the longevity, but it’s far cheaper than a single session at the groomer and did a great job. Hopefully it’ll be durable but, if not, it’s inexpensive enough to still be a viable option.

If this is “ultra quiet,” like the package says, then I don’t want to know what they consider loud. It’s not quiet.
It’s as loud as you would expect something like this to be. Since the old cat in question here is deaf, she’s not bothered. I don’t like the on/off switch. A sliding switch would be easier to use. This has one of those “soft touch” buttons you have to press down on really hard. Having said all that, it seems to be doing a good job helping with the mats in a 20 yr old short hair cat’s fur. Once they hit this age and don’t groom as much, even short fur will mat. If I can, with help, pull the fur up away from the skin, this slices through the clumped fur like butter and does not risk cutting the skin. And the cat doesn’t have a horrid “shaved down to the skin” look. Would buy again, even though the on/off makes me grind my teeth.

This little powerhouse melts through the thickest fur like a hot knife through butter. No tugging, pulling, even removes mats (didn’t see one on my dog’s chest area until it fell on the ground!)without hesitation, although per the instructions, it’s better to cut these out prior to using the trimmer. In fact, it works SO well that when I first touched it to her rear flank, just one quick swipe to try it out, it took all the hair it touched, leaving a short-hair track that took some time to even out!! Note to self – ALWAYS use the guides for desired length instead of being so anxious to see how it works you make this rookie mistake.
It’s slightly louder than my previous corded trimmer, but not enough to be a problem. Stays charged for two hours, more than twice the time needed to trim a dog well.
Added bonus – put all that trimmed fur out for the birds, they will appreciate it!

The battery is very durable, also after a single use at full power,
