   I’m currently in the Veterinary field, but before I was I groomed dogs. I groomed show dogs to specialty cuts to just a basic grooming for your loved pet. I thought I’d give these a try and since I’ve had the best of the best tools in the past, I could test these out and see how well they perform. I no longer groom dogs, but I do keep our own pets groomed and do a friends every now and again. It’s nice to keep these around the the times I need them. I also volunteer with the humane society quite a bit and will groom or trim up dogs for them or even foster dogs.

   This set comes with your standard scissor, curved scissor and a thinner shear. It also comes with a comb which is a must for any groomer! I like that it comes in a cute little case, so no worries about losing them. It also includes a small vial of oil to keep them well lubricated.

   I’m pretty impressed with the quality. They are sharp, easy to hold and the comb is heavy duty. I’d say for the price this kit is amazing. I’d say from a performance stance, this set easily compares to some I’ve purchased in the past being around $50 each scissor.
   Just remember to take care of your tools, put them away after use. Clean them! I can’t stress that enough. And be sure to oil on a semi-regular basis for best performance. I’d recommend this to groomers or just for anyone needing to trim their own pets at home.

   Shhhhh….don’t tell my husband, but I ordered the Kingstar trimmer set to trim my husband’s shaggy hair and beard. He doesn’t have to know it is marketed to pet owners! 😉
   The trimmer set came in a box suitable for gift giving to a pet lover, or someone who trims a two-legged family member’s hair -like me. Inside the box is a zippered case with stainless steel trimmers and utensils I specifically use the flat scissors and a few snips with the thinning scissors. The set also comes with a metal comb, two sizes of shears, one curved scissors and a small vial of lubricating oil. This is a handy combination to have available.

   This pet grooming set comes with everything you’ll need to maintain your pet’s coat. To start, the case is made of a sleek black pleather-like material that holds all your tools nicely in place. It also zippers to half the size, so it takes up less room, while keeping all the grooming tools together. In this kit, there are 3 very sharp scissors each with different functions. The first is a normal pair of shears that allow you to easily cut through your pet’s fur. I have a long-haired dachshund, and he tends to get tiny matted knots behind and under his ears. With these scissors, I was able to easily remove the matted fur from under his hairs. It cut easily and quickly through them, so I didn’t have to worry about him getting anxious and starting to squirm. I next used the curved scissors to remove the knots from behind his ears. Because the blades are curved, it fit perfectly against the back of his sensitive ears. That way, I didn’t need to worry about accidentally nicking him while I cut. The third scissors I haven’t used yet, but I will once the weather gets warmer again. They’re thinning shears that I will be able to use to thin out his thick coat to keep him cool during the summer months. I also like that they include a very heavy-duty metal comb in this kit, because my dog’s hair tends to be kind of wiry, so it becomes very difficult to brush through. Either I’m stuck breaking bristles or teeth on what I”m using to comb him, or I’m it gets stuck and snags, causing him pain. With this comb, though, I haven’t had to worry about that. I’ve used the end with the wide-set teeth to detangle his coat first before I go in with the other end, which has much more closely placed teeth, and it’s all gone really smoothly so far.
