Feline Caudal Stomatis and EFAC, December 11, 2011

My cat was recently diagnosed with caudal stomatitis, a disease that is notoriously difficult to treat without full mouth extraction and very painful for the cat. I was referred to a veterinary dentist for further treatment. Between the initial consultation and the first appointment, Dr. Beebe gave me EFAC Softgels to apply to my cat’s gums. In just one week, the inflammation was reduced by about half – incredible results!!!! Based on what I’ve read, there is no one treatment that works for all cats, and sometimes nothing works, but I would HIGHLY recommend this product as an option to try. The results were so very quick and dramatic for my kitty. At this time, his stomatitis is controlled enough that EFAC, daily home care, and frequent professional cleaning is the treatment plan. Thank you HopeScienceVet for this excellent (and revolutionary!) product.

Our holistic vet recommended these to two of my dogs. One of them has a missing tooth that he broke years ago (the carnassial, biggest tooth in the mouth). Therefore he does not chew on that side of his mouth, and needs manual brushing nightly. Brushing just wasn’t cutting it, and the tartar was really building up. In combination with VetzLife, a human toothbrush (we started him on a dog, nubby one), and these EFACs his teeth are really turning around. Just brushing really didn’t make much progress – I’m so glad she suggested these. I poke the end of a softgel open and squeeze the contents onto his ‘bad’ side, teeth, gums, etc, then I work it in with my fingertip. He doesn’t mind the taste of them. I use them every other night. Also use them on my female who has very, very early stages of reddened gumlines- she only gets one every few nights and I apply it all over her teeth/gums. It is doing a lot for her oral hygiene as well. I will keep using these in conjunction with VetzLife for the rest of my dogs lives.

Does Wonders for My Cats’ Gums, October 22, 2013

A friend sent me a box of EFAC capsules and after seeing how it took the redness out of my kitty’s gums, I ordered another box. Of course nothing takes the place of regular dental care, cleaning. BUT this is one amazing product for kitty gums. I use it every other day now. Initially (first week), it’s recommended that you use it each night.

The drawback is the kitties run like blazes when I prick open the capsule and they can smell the not offensive but strongish scent. BUT does not upset them the way the vet’s chemical liquid gum treatment did. I’m sure that was not good for them.

NOTE: You MUST rub it ON their gums to get full effectiveness. If you put it on their paw or in their food you’re simply helping their joints, not their gums.
