   I have a lovely, sweet, blue-eyed white cat (yes, he’s deaf) who is the worst shedder on earth. His fur isn’t all that long but it’s very plush, with a thick, dense undercoat. As he sits still on a shelf above my desk I watch his fur fall like gentle snow onto my keyboard.

   I’ve tried slicker brushes. The big ones with wide-set wires hurt his skin. He loves his slicker with soft, close-set wires but it can’t keep up with his undercoat.

   We tried the Furminator- what a mess! Fur flies everywhere and the handle stinks like rubber tires.

   The circular metal blade curry comb works but also makes a mess of flying fur. It never seems to get the job done.

   The Safari Cat Shedding Comb works OK, but not great.

   This thing- this Rake- is AMAZING! I simply glide it over his coat without applying any pressure and it strips out his undercoat without harming his outercoat! It works in both directions, too, so short little back-and-forth strokes work well. Gobs and gobs of fur come out while my kitty prances back and forth, purring like a buzz saw. The fur mostly sticks to the rake so I can easily collect it. After a few minutes it’s done its job and very little fur comes off anymore.

   It does nothing for my short-haired Tonkinese. I don’t know how it would work on a longhair cat without an undercoat. But if you have a cat with a dense undercoat I don’t think you will find a faster, safer, more effective tool. I accidently purchased two but love it so much I decided to keep the second one as a spare.

   Awesome pet brush. I have a very long haired, Maine Coon, who hates hates hates grooming. He had huge knots in his armpits, chest and “pants.” I ordered this rake and when it arrived, I thought “Well, this thing will never work!” I tried it anyway and it is WONDERFUL! It painless, the cat loves it, he’s totally knot free and I no longer have huge cathair tumbleweeds on my hardwood floors. Add to this that the fact that the seller sent this quickly and perfectly packaged, with a follow up email to ensure that I was completely satisfied, and you have one very happy customer. I can’t stress enough how great this product is. Meow!

   I’m sorry, when war wounds are part of the grooming process…and I am not speaking of the cat! You get the grooming done ASAP. I do it fast. The pile of hair looks twice the size of your pet!! Twice a week, with less discomfort.
