   I never thought I’d be one of those owners who bought a muzzle for their CAT, but I’d exhausted every option and still couldn’t find a way to clip our boy cat’s nails without him trying to take off my fingers (or my nose). So I gave in and bought this muzzle. The first time we used it, he stayed completely still, and I had his nails clipped in under a minute! He was fine and I was so relieved.

   I definitely recommend this for cat owners in need, and it’s also good to know I have this on hand if I ever need to handle an injured or upset cat.

   I purchased this muzzle in order to clip my cats nails without being bitten or scratched. I was a bit hesitant to order it, in fear that my cat would absolutely flip out once it was on his head, but since the price was low enough I took a chance. My cat remained completely still when I put the muzzle on – no squirming, no fussing – he was a statue. I was able to clip his nails in under five minutes. All cats are different so it may not work as well for you, but in my case it was well worth the price.

   Not appropriate for short-muzzled cats, August 16, 2010

   While this muzzle is easy to get on/off and should work well on the average cat, if you have a breed that has a short muzzle, you will need to find something with a more secure fit. This muzzle is really designed for a cat that has the long roman style nose or the typical asian breeds. Since this covers the majority of cat breeds and “mutts” found in the United States this makes sense, but any cat with a short muzzle, “wedge style” head or flat face will be able to wiggle out of this in no time flat.
