I was iffy about buying this food. I’d never heard of the brand nor known anyone that feeds it. I googled for reviews, but didn’t find much feedback on this brand. But the ingredients were good, so I bought a case.
This is a pate style food, without a strong smell to it. It is a little ‘juicier’ than some of the other foods I feed, but my cats seem to like that. In fact, my cats LOVE this food. With the other brands I feed them, there’s usually leftovers that they didn’t bother eating. Not this. They consistently eat all of it. There’s not a drop of juice left in the bowl. If you own a cat, you know the frustration of them deciding to waste your money by not eating their food, so finding a canned food my cats eat all of is exciting.
I’m glad I decided to give this brand a shot, because this is now permanently in their rotation.

I have been feeding my kitten Wellness canned kitten & adult food (rotating them for variety) but have been seeking a less expensive alternative—without sacrificing quality. While Health Extension is still not by any means inexpensive (hence my not giving it a full five stars), after reading the ingredient list I think it is a fair buy. (In fact, Friskies often goes for about the same price in some drug stores). Very important: the cat eats the whole can (no left over as with some other brands I tried) and there have been no ill effects (diarrhea, vomiting, etc). It even looks like real food…the amount of gravy is a plus in my opinion, it looks clear and like real juice not that “jello” consistency I see in others, including Wellness. So far I am happy, the cat seems happy and I am saving a few cents on every can.
As with the other reviewer, I had never heard of this food or brand until my pet store provided me with a sample of the dry food. While I found no reviews I took a chance on the canned variety and am glad to recommend it to others who wish for a healthy canned food that is slightly less expensive than most on the market.

Totally recommend for several reasons. One of my kitties has sensitive digestion. If he eats supermarket crap, there’s smelly diarrhea to follow (or soft stool). Since he’s been eating Health Extension, his stool is normal and doesn’t stink up the place. Also, I’m appreciative of food not containing gluten, meal by products. If you want the best food for your cat and the price is rather reasonable – and I hope it stays that way – try Health Extension by Vet’s Choice.
