   I had my two cats, one with a history of a struvite crystal blockage, on an RX cat food for this problem for about 3 years. I hated the food. They ate it happily but it really put weight on them, gave them skin flakes and made them puke pretty often. After 3 years of no reoccurrence of crystals, I decided to switch them to this food because it really is a much higher quality food. It actually works out to be the same price if not a little more than the food from the vet so I was not just looking for a cheaper alternative. After about 6 weeks on this food, my poor cat is re-blocked. He’s at the vet now and is on his second round of catheterization to remove the crystals in his bladder. My other cat, who coincidentally drinks plenty of water, is doing great on this food. If my other cat makes it home from the vet, I will put him back on the RX diet and keep my other cat on this Wysong. I think it is a fantastic food at an affordable price, just maybe not the best for cats with a history of struvite crystal blockages.

   One of our cats has a problem with struvite crystals but the food that had been working for that contains corn which another cat is allergic to. We gave this a try but the crystals came back. Seems like good food and all of the cats liked it but didn’t work for us.

   After my cat was diagnosed with urinary tract problems and I spent $1700 in the vet ER, I purchased every single type of dry food recommended for urinary tract health. All seven of my cats hated every brand except this one.
