   Light, easy to take on and off, looks comfortable, and with a bell to warn the birds in the yard, these are the collars I always buy for our 2 cats. They eventually get lost by the cats or us and need to be replaced. (Since I write our phone number on it with a black Sharpie some neighbors have called when they find the collar in their yard!)

   Amazon’s cat collars are cheaper then the stores, but does anyone else seem to think all cat collars are way over priced? For what they are, it seems I should be able to buy a 6-pack of collars for the price of one…

   This is a VERY dangerous collar. I purchased the CCP7001PUR collar after reading the reviews and removed the bell, as others had suggested in their reviews. I fit the collar so that two fingers could easily fit between the collar and the cat’s neck (as all vets recommend), and made certain it was not too tight, nor too loose. Within 5 minutes, the collar was caught in my cat’s mouth and the “safety” buckle did not open, nor did it give one bit. I had to grab my cat and work fast as he was severely caught. It took a lot of force to get the buckle undone. The only collars worth their salt are the ones that are fully stretchable. This is a danger trap and thankfully he was indoors for me to remove the collar quickly. I would give it no stars, but there is not an option for that.

   I removed the bell but found that this collar does not accept my kitty name tag as well as her last. I got it on but would snip off the bell itself in the future and use its holder for my heart tag. You can buy engravable tags cheaply at Amazon (half the pet store cost). Some one might not take my kitty to a vet if she were hurt (she is also internally tagged) so I always attach an external tag with my phone number on it.
