This stuff really works. My dog tends to get mats on his ears a lot, but he hates having his ears brushed, so the mats just get worse. After his last bath, I saturated the mats with detangler and carefully worked out the tangles with a comb. Don’t expect to spray this on the mats and miraculously be able to comb through them. You still have to work at it with a comb, but the detangler makes it so much easier. Both times I used it, my dog actually sat still without fussing and let me comb out the tangles. It also smells really good.

I just used this on my Old Englsh Sheepdog, and it was amazing! Our poor pup got really matted up when her winter coat started coming in. I was afraid we were going to have to shave her because nothing would get out intense mats. So, I ordered this from Amazon before taking her to get shaved, and I am so glad I tried it. I applied it to her dry fur, although it recommends bathing the dog and applying it to we hair. You just saturate the hair, and then I started brushing it out. It still worked great on dry hair, so I’ll always have this on hand from now on!!! Love it!

What caught my attention to this shampoo was where one of the reviewers said that she could get by with using less of it when bathing her Yellow Lab. I was hesitant to buy it because of the price. I thought that it may just be cheap shampoo in a fancy bottle. It turns out I was wrong and she was exactly right. You really can use less soap.

My dachshund has sensitive skin along with an allergy to fleas. We use a Frontline type flea treatment but she still gets the occasional flea bite. The hot dry weather here was wonderful for producing a bumper crop of fleas. It also caused my poor little dog’s skin to be extra dry. She was constantly scratching, even losing sleep because she’d wake up and have to scratch.

We used the Tropiclean shampoo today. We followed the instructions to the letter making sure we left the soap on for 5 to 10 minutes. Our Doxie does not like being wet so like always she fought us and tried to escape. Then a funny thing happened. She quit fighting and raised her head up in her “Oh this feels so good.” manner. She stood and let us wash her with no problem. Like the reviewer with the Yellow Lab said we used less soap than with other brands. My former brand was the Petco generic brand soap. As soon as i got it on my hands I could even feel the difference in quality. This soap had a thicker, richer, finer feel to it. It also had a good smell.

The Tropiclean had an immediate effect on my dog. It was three hours ago that I washed her and she has not scratched yet. In fact after we were done she had a lot of energy. Watching her frolic was well worth the money I paid for this shampoo. One last thing… Before the bath I could scratch her back and she would raise her back paw involuntarily and scratch like dogs do when you scratch just right. After the bath she quit doing that. Try as I might I could not get her to do that. That proved to me the shampoo did it’s job very well.

We have used oatmeal based shampoo before but the Tropiclean has a form of tea in it and apparently that boosts the effect of the oatmeal. Whatever is in it it is absolutely the best dog shampoo I have ever used. Just be sure and follow those instructions. I also found out that the company that sells this stuff is located not very far from where I live. The next time I am in that town I’ll be stocking up.
